Sylvia Wei (1982-….)

Background

Sylvia, the daughter of an auto parts store owners is a motivated individual whose goals in life are to be involved in a technological revolution, to have a happy family, to help those who needs help, to have good friends, and to make her parents proud.

Educational

Sylvia was born on October 8, 1982 in Bandung, Indonesia. She have interests in nearly anything, so she have chosen to have a career in the gaming and simulation field very early in her life. She believe that this field will let her pursue knowledge in various other fields, that she would then be able to simulate as an asset. Sylvia graduated from St. Yusuf Grade School in the year 1993 and St Aloysius High School in the year 1999. As a note, grade school and high school takes six years each to cover at Indonesia.

In the year 1999, Sylvia enrolled as an Electrical Engineering student at Indianapolis University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), USA. It’s unfortunate that she had to abandon her study a year after she started due to a combination of various health issues, which stopped her from coming to class regularly. In the mean time, Sylvia learned and tried her hand on various programming languages and libraries such as PHP, C, C++, Delphi, Perl, Python, Ruby, wxWidgets, Delphi, and WinForms. However, most of her focus was on PHP, in which she have helped many people as one of the founders of a PHP programming channel in the year 2000-2003.

In the year 2007, Sylvia came back to school, as a Game Simulation and Programming student at Devry University, with a renewed vigor to reach her goals in life. As a person who like to think things through, she first took classes that would build her foundations, such as writing and speech classes, while she also did her separate self-study. These classes served her well in her other classes, as the ability to communicate well translates into the ability to learn. Furthermore, she have been the team leader in several of these foundation classes, which taught her about how to be a team leader.

Personality

Sylvia is a self-motivated and ambitious individual who like sharing and dislike seeing others being hurt. She love to learn and create new things. Whenever she think of anything she want to do, she tend to think about them thoroughly first. She also like things and those that are honest, thoughtful, balanced and organized. She dislike dishonest, opinionated, misleading and thoughtless individuals and things. Like any other sufficiently intellectual person, Sylvia is also open minded and self introspective.

Sylvia’s analytical habits of analyzing many things through a scientific glass might make her seem distance, but at the same time it also keep her fair to others and more thoughtful than not.

Hobbies

When not studying, Sylvia often play video games (especially cooperative multiplayer games), tabletop games (e.g. Go, Chess, and Warhammer Quest), badminton, reading fictions, shopping, learning, programming, watching anime and movies, reading manga and comic books, and cooking. She especially like to do these when she could enjoy them with her friends.

Interests

Sylvia have a wide interests involving things such as robotics, music, creation, computer building, writing, drawing, programming, cognitive enhancement, learning, creation, socializing, self organization, life-hacking, tailoring, helping those who needs it, modeling, singing, and personal empowerment.
